As luck would have it, the tour I organized through the Port Vila offices of Air Vanuatu placed me at the Sunrise Bungalows. The bungalows are run by a family/village very near to the volcano. This is the entryway that greets you upon arrival. 
And this is the view that greets you. The bungalows are at the top of a ridge overlooking a stretch of beautiful, pristine beach and a wonderful bay. The coral reef keeps the worst of the swells from getting inside leaving it perfect for swimming.
