Beechworth

The town of Beechworth, in the middle of Kelly Country, is a fine old gold mining establishment that has found itself a niche to survive and prosper post-gold rush.

A cycle shop.

And chainsaw shop.

The town lake.

Tasting beer at the Bridge Road Brewers.

An old brewery.

The Chinese cemetery.  Once the gold ran out, the only Chinese people left behind were in graves.

One of the few things left from the Chinese in town.

An American civil war veteran laid to rest in Beechworth.

On a scenic drive outside of Beechworth.

The town at sunset.

A horse and carriage await passengers.

The state prison which recently closed and now is being turned into condos.

An old gold mining area just downstream from town.

Off the beaten track in Beechworth.
