What kind of black magic did he have to perform to get this thing to work? And what model did he get? I didn’t see anything with turn signal indicators on the website. Love this thing!

No black magic necessary. Spliced into the existing wiring harness, Model 75-601 (universal for conventional fork bikes). The turn signal assembly is one of the Vapor accessories. Mounts to the back and makes it look like what you see in the picture.
