I was lucky enough to spend a couple weeks in California visiting my parents and grandma in the mountains. Heather, Sean, and Katie came to visit as well.
- Upper McKinley Grove – The big sequoias that I love. The secret grove that no one ever visits.
- Camp El-O-Win and the New Bridge – Camp El-O-Win recently had a new bridge installed over Dinkey Creek.
- Backpacking in Crown Valley: A real highlight of my summer.
- Crown Valley Day 1 – Hiking with my father in his old wilderness ranger patrol area.
- Crown Valley Day 2 – Gorgeous high country in the Sierras. Checking out the Obelisk.
- Crown Valley Day 3 – Looking down into Tehipite Valley.
- Crown Valley Day 4 – Heading back out to civilization.
- Alignment of Venus and Jupiter – We went down to Radio Camp to watch Venus and Jupiter align.
- 4x4ing with my Parents on Bald Mountain – Checking out the old 4×4 trail that leads up to the lookout. Once upon a time, a stock pickup could easily make it up to the top.
- Evening on the Meadow – The meadows my parents stay at in the summer are gorgeous.
- Strawberry Hole – A great swimming place that has been used for the better part of a century.
- Courtright Reservoir with Heather – Heather’s first visit to Courtright Reservoir.
- Morning in the Meadow – A gorgeous morning in the meadow.
- McKinley Grove with Heather, Sean, and Katie – Taking folks to McKinley Grove is always a lot of fun.
- Dinkey Creek Bridge – The old bridge over Dinkey Creek.
- Exploring Rock Creek Road – The logging road between Dinkey Creek and Tamarack Ridge.
- Another Wonderful Morning in the Meadow – The meadow sure is wonderful to wake up to.
- Steam Donkey Steam Up at Shaver Lake – Firing up the old steam donkeys that once worked the forests around Shaver Lake.
