In the summer of 2013, Heather and I had the opportunity to venture to the general area of Silverton where we strolled through the lovely Oregon Gardens and then hiked through the impressive Silver Falls State Park. In total we saw ten waterfalls throughout the park and several crazy mounds of ants.
- The Oregon Gardens – A beautiful series of gardens showcasing the work of the Oregon nursery industry and a Frank Lloyd Wright house as well.
- South Falls – The most iconic and most often visited waterfall in Silver Falls State Park.
- Lower South Falls – Another beautiful classic waterfall in the park. This fall allows for visitors to walk behind the water.
- Lower North Falls – A little pretty waterfall off the beaten path for most visitors to Silver Falls State Park.
- Double Falls – A little waterfall up a side canyon from the main creek.
- Drake Falls – This is a relatively hard falls to spot from the main trail but is a pretty view nonetheless.
- Middle North Falls – A waterfall that the trail goes behind.
- Twin Falls – A split in the rocks causes two falls to form on the creek.
- North Falls – A huge falls on the creek and the other iconic waterfall at the state park.
- Upper North Falls – After the massive splendor of North Falls, Upper North Falls is a pipsqueak by comparison.
- North Falls from a Distance and Crazy Ants – Another view of the beautiful North Falls and some crazy ants to go along the with the view.
- Winter Falls – The last waterfall visited on our tour of Silver Falls State park.
