Washington DC 2011

The ASME 2011 International Design Engineering Technical Conferences (IDETC) and Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (CIE) was held in Washington, DC. As luck would have it, I had a paper in the DTM portion of the conference. Thus, I went with my lab mates and professor to DC for the conference. While in DC, I had the chance to visit several of the monuments and museums near to the conference hotel. The map above links to each of the posts about the specific monuments and museums. Click through the place markers to see what I saw.

  1. (With regards to Thomas Jefferson) “A regal man if ever there was.”

Since regal kind of implies a monarchy/king/one leader or something that’s fit for same, I think TJ would object to being called regal! hahahaha

I went to James Madison Univ in Virginia, and the mascot was the “Royal Duke”! Boy, old JM must have been spinning in his grave at the idea of something “royal” at his college!

    1. Hmmm yes I think you’re right. These days, I suspect many of the founding fathers must be spinning at high rates of speed. If only we could harness this potent form of energy, we could declare our independence from foreign oil…

      Cheers!
