The rumors of Wimer Covered Bridge’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. Several years back, the original bridge collapsed as a truck crossed it. Many websites still list the bridge as in ruins. I can report that this is very much not the case anymore. The bridge has been rebuilt using pressure-treated lumber and should remain standing for many years to come.
The original design remains but high tech lumber and joining methods are now being used. This bridge is built to last for many years.
