We stopped along the road at Elk Creek Falls. This is the main branch of the river near the road. The water was incredibly clear and beautiful.
The river was so incredibly blue and clear!
Looking down the side creek from the falls.
There were rocky bluffs on the other side of the main river from the road.
It was hard to get good photos of the rocky bluffs on the other side of the river due to the high contrast between the clouds and the trees. This video gives you a bit of an idea of what it looks like.
This little waterfall only runs in the winter.
The main falls. There are either two or three drops to these falls.
An overview of the falls.
A large overview of the main waterfall and the smaller seasonal waterfall. This is approximately a 180 degree horizontal view.
We found a partially consumed six pack of Coors Light sitting on the bench by the falls.
I decided against trying this left behind beer.
Beautiful pictures and I am happy to see Scuba Blue made it into a couple of shots!
Just wait for the rest of the photos from that weekend! We have some good pictures of Heather driving on exciting roads in out of the way places!
