We stopped outside Myrtle Point to visit a small myrtle grove. These trees were much more common before people realized that they make good cabinets and have beautiful wood.

My son, Drew Hoffman and his wife Michelle sent us this same picture on facebook this morning from their road trip in Oregon. The funny coincidence is that Drew just recently restored his grandfather’s “Hoffman Memorial” plaque in Monroe Michigan. My son, also a mechanical engineer, moved to Kent Washington a few months ago. You can find his facebook posting under Drew Hoffman
Wow small world! Now that Drew lives within a day’s drive of the Hoffman memorial that I found, he should go down and check it out. It is a neat little park.
