I am about halfway through the conversion of my old reliable 1989 Honda Pacific Coast from carburetted to fuel injected. I am using a MicroSquirt as the ECU and most of the fuel injection system off of a 2010 Honda Fury VT1300CXA.
Since I made the video, I decided to NOT run spark off the MicroSquirt due to needing to buy an expensive ignition control circuit. The MicroSquirt only puts out a logic level output rather than something that can actually drive a ignition spark generator. In the future if I decide to add a turbo to the bike (yes, I’ve been thinking about it and have drawn up plans), I will tackle it then. For now, running with the stock ignition control module and sensing the spark will be enough to give me engine RPM and trigger the fuel injectors.
