Dinkey Creek, probably better described as a fourth fork of the Kings River, can be a little trickle in the summer or a raging torrent in the winter.  This summer it was very small and sedate.

The old Dinkey Creek Bridge is an original bowstring-arch timber truss bridge.  A few parts of it have been replaced over the years but the design is all original.  The Wikipedia page has a really good summary of information about this historical bridge.

It’s well worth the time to check out this bridge if you’re in the Dinkey Creek area.  Lots of families come to play in the cool pools below in the summer.  In the winter, the whole area is covered in snow and takes on a quiet majesty.
