I made a 20 minute long video walking through all of the many modifications that I have made to my PC800 over the years including the custom fuel injection system running on a MicroSquirt ECU. I’m contemplating selling my bike or the fuel injection system to get ready for the next big project that I have in mind. If you’re interested, please get in touch with me.
A partial list of the modifications includes:
- Custom-built fuel injection system based on a MicroSquirt ECU
- Full LED lights including the instrument cluster, turn signals, brake lights, and headlight. This also necessitated a turn signal cancel delete
- MMoto Complete Rack
- Hondaline passenger backrest
- VT1100 final drive
- Dual heat troller with BMW-style plugs
- +4 inch Clearview windshield with Goldwing-style vent
- Genmar handlebar risers (+1.5 inches)
- Braided stainless steel brake and clutch lines
- Custom spring pack in the front forks that act like progressive springs but stiffer (more to my liking)
- Analogue and digital voltmeters
- Grip Puppies
- Headlight cutoff switch
- Battery cutoff switch
- Built-in cables for jump-starting bikes
- Touareg ADV rider stickers on the fairing
- Beadrider seat cover
- Mick-O-Pegs
- Cigarette lighter outlet in the dash pocket
- Other things that I’m forgetting
Well Uncle Doug. You and the PC have had quite a ride. Sad to see a departure, but glad you had the fantastic experience of experimenting with it. I will always be thankful for you being responsible for pairing me with my PC. Best move ever. And keep the adventures coming. Learned more about mining than I ever thought I would know.
Hi Ting!
This isn’t the end of my PC adventure! I’m seriously considering selling the fuel injection system and replacing the carbs. In a couple years I’ll electrify a PC800. There is always a new challenge ahead. Now that I’ve cracked the fuel injection nut, I think I’ll go back to reliable carbs and work on extended range fuel tanks…
