A big wind storm blasted the Monterey peninsula the other night and cracked our lemon tree in half. We were able to strap it back together until a gardener could come out and bolt it together permanently. So far, it seems like it will survive.
A sea otter mom and her pup, and walking around the harbor
A sea otter and her pup were floating around in the harbor this morning. Considering the big storm a few days ago, it’s good to see that this pair didn’t get separated. We also saw a fat seal resting on an almost submerged rock.
Damage from the big storm
A big storm really hammered the Monterey Peninsula the last few days. Out in Pacific Grove and along Asilomar, the ocean came up onto the road and pushed towards houses, and onto the golf course. The city is working to push the sand off the roads and repair the damage. Out at Asilomar, many boulders were lifted up off the beach and thrown into the parking area. There was a lot of energy involved in making this happen!
