We went up to my parents for Thanksgiving and to get a holiday tree for our house. There’s more snow on the ground at Forked Meadow now but it wasn’t enough to stop us from finding the perfect tree!
Garrapata State Park and Soberanes Creek Canyon
We went down to Big Sur to hike up Soberanes Creek Canyon to see some redwoods. Then afterwards we stayed in Garrapata State Park and went out on the headlands to see the view of the Pacific Ocean. What a beautiful place!
Capitola and the Concrete Ship
We took a day trip up to Capitola and Seacliff State Beach where the concrete ship is located. One good storm will take that old pier out that goes to the wreck of the concrete ship.
The little condo development down on the beach in Capitola is amazing for the fact that it’s survived 100 years without being swept out to sea. The whole beachside area of Capitola looks like a strong winter could cause to become a new reef. At least up in Santa Cruz along their ocean road things are a bit less precarious.
