Fall colors walk

This afternoon Samantha and I took a short walk around the neighborhood to look at the fall colors. Some trees are still mostly green while others burn bright red and yellow. People are starting to rake the leaves in their yards and pile them in the street for collection. Next time we go out, I will have to bring a camera to take some photos of all the beauty.

Our walk covered 1.8 miles of gorgeousness.

Walking Along the Circle Bike Path

Tonight Samantha and I went for a walk rather than a jog.  Neither of us were particularly feeling in a jogging mood.  Walking up the side road that I speculate may have been the original way up Witham Hill from the east, we saw a small herd of deer munching on the landscaping of a house.  Down in the wetlands, we were bombarded by a host of bats as night fell.  The cat that we had seen several nights previous with the “I’m Not Lost” tag made a reappearance far down the wetland path.  That kitty has quite the range!

Walking back to the house, we were accosted by several more cats out looking for some loving.  It seems that neighborhood is quite the mecca of petting-whore cats.

A quick jog past the bare plum tree

Tonight we went for a quick jog as time was not on our side.  My ASOSU Senate meeting had run long, pushing our exercise well into the night.  Running at night has always been very enjoyable to me.  I like running in that cool, crisp air.  There are hardly any cars on the road, almost no people, and few if any dogs about to give chase.

Passing the plum tree was a melancholy affair.  No plums were to be had.  Not until next fall will we feast on the forlorn fruit of the upper middle class suburbanites who plant plum trees for ornamentation and not for food.

In total, we jogged 2.7 miles.
