Ride your bike to work day

Rode my bike from my place past Brenton’s to see if he was awake yet.  It was Take Your Bike to Work day.  Parked my bike on the brick mall next to the MU Quad on campus.  There were about 40ish bikes.  I have photos on my camera phone.  Will upload them somewhere eventually.  The clutch was a bit grabby in 1st gear and I popped out of 1st into neutral a couple times when it was cold.

5 miles.

Second ride

Rode with Carl out past Crescent Valley High School, up Lewisburg Saddle, down along Sulfur Springs Road to the garbage dump then out through old Camp Adair to Independence Highway.  We went south along the highway till we met up with Highway 20 which we took back into Corvallis and back to my place.  Lots of bugs in the creek bottoms and out by Camp Adair.  Really fun on the twisties but maybe I was a bit aggressive for only my second real ride!

30ish miles.

First Ride

First ride on my bike and first real ride after having taken the Basic Rider Training Course back in May. Carl and I practiced a bit in the parking lot at the grade school next to my house before heading out along 29th to Walunt, around to 53rd, along the back road to Philomath, turning left onto Western Blvd all the way back through campus to 14th to 11th then up to my house. Good ride. Had to really adjust the crap out of the handle bars a couple of times. Couldn’t see out of my mirrors because the bars were a wee bit too low.

15 miles.
