Washout on Alpha Trail in the McDonald Dunn Forest

Last winter there was a big washout on the road that goes to the Alpha Trail in McDonald Dunn Forest.  The washout is about 300 feet long and 50 feet wide.  There is a small path around the washout although it is on a bit of an overhang.  I have heard word that a bypass trail has either been built from the ridgeline trail or is on the way.  Next winter I expect this to get much worse.

Nice view since all of the trees are gone in the washout.

Unexpected Baby Llama

Yesterday I got a call from my parents that a new, unexpected baby llama had been born.  I went up to Newberg to help with the baby and check out the new addition to the farm.  I found a wonderful, healthy little girl.

All of the other llamas were very interested in the new arrival.

Yes, she’s adorable.  One day she’ll be as big as all of the other llamas.

Snow on the Farm

When I visited the farm the other day, I found snow on the ground and more falling from the sky.

 Big fluffy flakes!

The flowers emerged a little too early.

It wasn’t much snow but it did make everything very pretty.
