Bombing up Marys Peak in a RWD Toyota HiLux in the Snow and at Night

Drew and I went up to Marys Peak last night to see how much snow there is on the road. We found several feet up near the summit. The 80’s Toyota HiLux that Drew mobs around in did an amazing job. The photo above is from my camera phone. Note that this truck is RWD, has an open differential, and we didn’t have any extra weight in the bed.

A retouched photo from Drew’s camera makes it look like daylight. I can assure you that it was night.

This is a short video of our drive to the summit. We encountered several big 4x4s at the top. One had become hopelessly stuck in the snow. They couldn’t believe that we had made it in our little RWD pickup.

2013 Portland Timbers Season Opener vs the New York Red Bulls

Waiting in line for wrist bands for the first game of the 2013 Portland Timbers season, we watched a group of fans playing some soccer. One thing led to another, and the ball got stuck on top of the awning outside Jeld-Wen Field. Someone climbed up to get the ball down.

We were at the start of the 300s in the wrist band line.

The 2013 season of the Portland Timbers has begun!

We sat in the 108th Easy Company of the Timbers Army. Well… we didn’t sit. We stood, cheered, and chanted for the whole game. Someone created a Porterland sign to welcome coach Caleb Porter.

Go home you bums, go home!

Low Tide at Tidal Raves in Depoe Bay

Heather and I went to dinner with my parents at Tidal Raves in Depoe Bay during a very low tide (approx -2ft). We had a window table with a great view of the receding tide.
