I stopped off at Horsetail Falls in the Columbia River Gorge to see the last remnants of the hard freeze that enveloped the Gorge for several weeks prior to my trip west.
Snow Storm in Pendleton
After traveling through then night to reach Pendleton, I woke up the next morning to find my car covered in snow and more falling rapidly.
Conditions on the freeway were pretty dicey. The semi trucks were going slow and it was very treacherous to pass them.
Sometimes the semis passed each other which made for very exciting conditions.
Driving Toward Park City
It is a bit hard to tell from the photograph, but I encountered the start of a blizzard on my way west on I-80 near Park City, Utah. There were quite a number of cars flipped off the road in the ditch to illustrate how slippery the conditions were.
