Heather, Nikos, Neal, and I went up to see the top of Mount Evans after having some great pancakes. There were many animals along the road on the way up.

After a great weekend in the Grand Lake area, we drove back over to metro Denver via Rocky Mountain National Park. Up at the top of the continental divide, there was still quite a bit of snow on the ground.
A little glacial lake that only melts out a few months a year.

Our wonderful 4runner. Heather is peaking out from the cab. It was very cold up at this elevation and we didn’t have any normal doors on the truck.

We were lucky enough to catch the Buffalo BBQ and Parade in Grand Lake on the weekend we were in town. The parade was quite the event.
The centennial of Rocky Mountain National Park was being celebrated by several park staff on a float.
The last block of the parade is the “splash zone” where a massive water fight rages between parade floats and the spectators.
A local bumper car place brought their carts out.
Ridiculous but in a good way.
