We received a nice dusting of snow in the morning in Golden today.
Down by Clear Creek there is still a hard crust of ice on the banks from the cold weather last month.

We attended the 2014 incarnation of the Olde Golden Christmas Parade this year. Every parade in Golden has the same 20 or 30 entrants every time but it is still fun to come down and watch.

I took a hike up Apex Park on a particularly gray day in Golden.
There was a whole herd of deer in the park.
And then I ran into a big herd of elk!
There were close to 60 animals on both sides of the trail. I made a bunch of noise to make sure they knew I was coming and to move them off the trail.
Elk doing what elk do.
Sometimes this elk herd comes down into our neighborhood.
Heading further into the park.
Through the woods.
Another deer.
Back out onto the front side of Apex Park looking toward Golden.
It was a good hike even with the clouds.
