Playing in the Mud in the Tillamook State Forest

My buddy Todd and I took my trusty 4runner out into the Tillamook State Forest to do a little mapping for Trails Off-Road.

We had fun romping around on the Cedar Tree Trail.

Little bit of flex in the old 4runner.

Posing under the famous fallen cedar tree.

A little action on Firebreak Five.

Going on Saddle Up in the fog.  Beautiful views when you’re not in the clouds but pretty spooky in the bad weather.

Heading down through the mud on Saddle Up.

Splashing on through.

Checking out the hard side of 7-Up.

Somewhere on Hogsback.

End of a great day with Todd in the woods.  Until next time!

A Muddy and Snowy Day on the Barlow Trail

I spent some time mapping the Barlow Trail for Trails Off-Road and got to play around in the mud and snow with my Toyota 4runner.

Heading on through the route where wagon trains once rolled.

Muddy truck means fun truck.

Rich met up with me for the second half of the trail.  We hit snow pretty quick but it didn’t get thick until later.

This old bridge is getting pretty long in the tooth.  I wouldn’t be too surprised if it is condemned in the next year or two.

Beautiful in the snow.

The road won’t be open too much longer this year.  Snow is falling thick and heavy up on top.

Wine Tasting at Sokol Blosser

We went out to Sokol Blosser to do some wine tasting on a lovely fall day as the grape leaves turned golden in the afternoon sun.

A few grapes escaped the crush.

The trusty old vineyard tractor with a load of crushed grapes waiting to go out and be spread on the fields.

Fully juiced.

The Red Hills above Dundee are so beautiful.

Wine with the vines.

If there’s anywhere to spend a fall day, it’s at Sokol Blosser.
