I wen to St Louis, Missouri for the ASME IDETC/CIE conferences. My flight was delayed and I barely made it in time. It’s lucky that I did because I received an award for best paper! The conference was held in the old Union Station that’s been restored to its former grandeur. But now there’s only one track (somewhere) that has an Amtrak train pull in. The rest of the station is used for other purposes.
Meandering in the Meadows and Fixing the Snow Blower
In the early morning, I walked around through the meadows as the sun started to rise. It’s been a very nice summer so far at 6000 feet.
Then later in the morning, my father and I worked on the snow blower attachment for the bobcat skid steer. The only way my parents are able to live up here full time is with that bobcat and the snow blower. Otherwise, the snow would get way too deep for any reasonable vehicle to make it in.
Last winter the motor for the auger on the blower started leaking. So we decided to pull the motor out of the snow blower and take it down to Fresno to get rebuilt. We’ll reinstall it later in the fall when I’m able to come up again.
Grandma’s birthday at Forked Meadow
It was my grandmother’s birthday today so the family got together at Forked Meadow to celebrate.
In the morning, there was a bi of fog out in the meadows before we were greeted by another crystal clear Sierra Nevada day.
