The Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome

I headed over to the cloud forest and flower dome to check out the sights.

This amazing glass greenhouse is cooled down from the outside and supports an entire cloud forest!

Looking up at the upper walkways.

Even though this is a cloud forest, it’s also full of flowers!

Pitcher plants!

On the upper cloud deck.

Behind the waterfall.

Looking through the glass at the Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore Hotel.

Inside the cloud forest mountain.

Time for some mist in the cloud forest!

Down in the almost subterranean area.

Over in the Flower Dome where a bunch of biomes live in one place.

There are a lot of really neat plants in the Flower Dome.

A big American cactus in the middle of all of this.

Looking down at all the flowers.

The Dutch tulip festival was on while I wandered through.

Lots of beautiful tulips!

Marina Bay Walkabout

I took a little walkabout around the Marina Bay area of Singapore in the evening.

There were a few construction projects going on along my path.

Lots of ships just offshore.

The distinctive Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore Hotel with a swimming pool on top.

The Singapore Flyer, a beautiful Ferris Wheel in Singapore.

The Singapore Stadium with its roof open.

A beautiful lily pad pond in one of the gardens.

A big bird statue in the gardens.

Along the Marina Barrage.  Very beautiful.

Be mindful of the otters crossing!

One of the many footbridges around Marina Bay.

A pretty park.  One of the few places where there weren’t folks out picnicking in this park.

Garbage cleanup in one part of the bay.  They’re working on getting the water quality up.

Flying Back to Singapore

After a day or so in Malaysia and Brunei, we hopped back on a flight and went back to Singapore for the next week’s work activities.

One last look at Miri.

Morning clouds will turn into afternoon showers.

All of the cargo ships waiting off the coast of Singapore.

Lots of boats on the approach to the airport.

One of the residential districts of Singapore.

Pulling into the budget airline terminal.
