South Falls at Silver Falls State Park

IMG_0120

The iconic South Falls at Silver Falls State Park is probably the most visited and photographed waterfall in the park.  The Civilian Conservation Corps built quite a few of the trails and structures in the park many years ago.  This is one of those structures.

The Oregon Gardens

IMG_0089The town of Silverton hosts several interesting attractions including the Oregon Gardens and a Frank Lloyd Wright house.  Heather and I visited both to see the sights.  The lily pad ponds at the gardens are fun and whimsical.

IMG_0093I remember this part of the gardens being barren when I first visited in middle school.  Now the trees have grown in and the water shade garden is gorgeous.  Weddings and receptions often happen here.

STA_0105 - STI_0113The design wasn’t the most practical for Oregon but the building is stunning.
