Back on the boat we settled in for a night on Halong Bay. Twilight on the bay is stunning.
Titov Island
We stopped off at Titov Island, named after a cosmonaut who once visited Halong Bay, for a hike and to watch the sun set over the horizon.
The tourist faux-junks anchor up in this area overnight.
Getting ready for sunset. There were a number of Russians on top of the mountain with us.
The sun sinks low over the horizon.
The last bit of light.
Down on the beach after sunset.
Sung Sot Cave
Our faux-junk headed deeper into Halong Bay to visit Sung Sot Cave.
Those sails are just for show. That boat has a marine engine in the bottom.
A very odd trashcan.
Looking out on the bay from the entrance to the cave.
Boats parked waiting to receive their passengers.
At the entrance to the cave.
Looking down into the cave.
This is a massive cave. It is difficult to convey the size in photographs.
There were monkeys in the trees near the cave eating fruit.
Some floating houses near the cave.
One of the women trying to sell things to tourists from her boat.
Boats in the sun.
A small shrine in the rock.
If I recall correctly, this is our boat.
