Over a long holiday weekend in September, I took my trusty Honda Pacific Coast north to the lands of British Columbia. The Great White North was a wonderful place to ride a motorcycle and visit a friend or two.
- Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory – I visited this neat astronomy site in southern British Columbia.
- Spences Bridge Overnight – I camped out on a gravel bar in the Thompson River between two very active rail lines.
- Along the Fraser River – I took British Columbia Highway 12 west toward Lillooet along the mighty Fraser RIver.
- Seton Lake Outside of Lillooet – A reservoir on the way to Vancouver.
- Duffey Lake Provincial Park – Next stop: a beautiful lake up BC Highway 99.
- D’Arcy at the Western End of Anderson Lake – I went up a little road to a very pretty lake and a small town.
- The Mountains West of Whistler – There are some big mountains to ride between up here.
- On the Pier at Squamish – I went down to the waterfront to relax in the sun for a while.
- West Coast Railway Heritage Park – This is an absolutely excellent little train museum.
- Visiting Motorcycle Friends in Coquitlam – My last night in Canada at a friend’s house outside of Vancouver.
- The Port Townsend-Coupeville Ferry with a Motorcycle – After crossing back into America, I hopped on the ferry over to the Olympic Peninsula to meet up with the Pacific Coast Highway.
- Coasting Along the Pacific Coast – I headed down US 101 all the way back to Oregon to finish up a great weekend in British Columbia.
