The Naked PC800 turns into a real rat rod under Drew’s expert hand

IMG_1578

After languishing in my garage for the past year, Drew bought the Naked PC800 and promptly started ratting it out.  First to go was the instrument cluster, headlight, and rear seat.  Next was the exhaust system.  This is a video of the first time we started the bike after stripping it down to the bare essentials.  In the future Drew will put a nice sport bike muffler on it and make a new half fairing for the bike.  This PC800 will rise like a phoenix from the naked ashes to create something new and amazing.

Check out this awesome video of the first time we fired up the bike after we removed the whole exhaust system.  It sounds AWESOME!  I can’t wait to see what Drew does to the PC800 next.

I had lunch at the Rogue Pub in North Plains.  The food wasn’t stellar but it was a nice respite from the heat of the day.

This is such a cute little town!

IMG_9297After my stop in North Plains and a brief stopover at my parents house, I rode back to Corvallis to finish my RAMROD weekend.  i ended up riding around 1000 miles across three days.  It was great fun!

The old Vernonia Grade School is no more.

I think this might have been the middle school.  It is being torn down now.

The high school used to be here.

In one of the city parks there is the old jail.  It had two cots and could hold a couple people overnight.

The old Shay geared steam locomotive in the park.  This was one of the last places in Oregon that logged using steam railways.

The gear-driven wheelsets are so neat!
