Anchorage to Seward

I had a few hours to kill after I landed and before bed so I jumped in a rental car and drove down to Seward and back. The Seward Highway is absolutely stunning. And amazingly I didn’t see a single mosquito all the way from Seward back to Anchorage.

It’s really hard to capture just how big Alaska is.

Cruise ships come into Seward. The Alaskan Railroad ends in Seward as well.

The little cabins on the other side of the lake look like a fabulous place to spend a few days.
Such beautiful views literally around every bend in the road!

Flying to Anchorage

Even though I got a window seat, the old busted plane that Delta has in service on the Seattle-Anchorage route had some pretty scuffed up windows. At least you can get a sense for how huge the mountains are in British Columbia.
Parts of the Inland Passage are visible here. So very cool!

There’s the airport and next door the world’s largest seaplane base.

Flying to Seattle

I flew through Seattle on my way to Anchorage for work. It was interesting seeing all of the 737 MAXs stacked up at Boeing Field. And seeing the Alaskan Way Viaduct being taken down was something to remember.
