Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex Review

Returning to the complex, the expedition received a wonderful tour from the director of outreach.

The reflecting cone of the largest dish in the complex cut in half and ready to be shipped to any of the other DSN facilities around the world.

As close as we could get to taking pictures in the control room.  Unlike at Goldstone, photos are frowned upon in the sensitive areas of the facility.

Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex Reconnaissance

The first order of business in Canberra was to locate and make a reconnaissance of the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex.  On a previous expedition, I had penetrated a similar facility at Goldstone, California.

The first dish is spotted!

Thee expedition maintained radio silence for the duration of the mission.

A dish over the horizon.

After identifying an inside contact and scheduling a rendezvous, the expedition went down the road to another space-related site to spend some time before it was our turn to enter the facility proper.
