On our first day in Dubrovnik we wandered down from our rented room toward the old town.

Transit to Dubrovnik via Bosnia

STA_1248-STF_1253

On our way from Split to Dubrovnik, we transited through a slim strip of land that belongs to Bosnia and Herzegovina.  The entire Dalmatian coast is gorgeous.

An interesting old transformer.

Trojir

IMG_1187

The little town of Trojir is north of Split.  Old town sits on a tiny island between the mainland and a larger island.

IMG_1189

The narrow streets are fun to wander.

An old clock tower.

Along the west side of town.  Long promenades extend in both directions.

The old fort on the north side of town.

IMG_1204IMG_1206 IMG_1207

Another old bastion of safety for the townsfolk.  I suspect that there used to be city walls off the sides of this fortification but now there are soccer fields.
