Student Design Contest at IMECE2010

The 2010 ASME Student Design Contest finals were held at IMECE2010.  One of the OSU teams won the regional event back in the spring and was sent on to the finals.

All finished.  Now the hard part… waiting for everyone else to compete so the final scores can be determined.

Some other devices.

This was by far the best name of any device.

Lo and behold, the OSU team won first place!  Good job team!

Eileen’s Speech

Eileen gave her speech at IMECE2010 on Saturday afternoon. I thought she did quite well. The presentation was very good and her delivery was excellent. Unfortunately the lighting wasn’t the best in the room so I couldn’t get very many decent pictures.

ASME SPDC District D @ Oregon State University

The SPDC returned to OSU in April.  My friends who run and are members of the local ASME chapter made me proud by putting on a wonderful event!  Here are a few photos of what happened.

This car had a really interesting design.  It worked pretty decently, too.

The motor ended up burning out on the spinning platform so I got to pretend I was a motor for the night.
