Sunny and Poofy are co-existing very well at Forked Meadow. It sure was a big moon rising over the meadows tonight.
Walking up on the bluff above Forked Meadow
I walked up onto the bluff above the main group of meadows that comprises the Forked Meadow Creek drainage to one of the hidden meadows. The granite bluff provides great views looking to the east. UC Merced has some long-term transect lines in the area with t posts and numbered PVC pipes. It’s part of their Providence Creek research project.
Smokey day at Forked Meadow
There’s some smoke drifting into Forked Meadow I think from a fire to the south of us somewhere.
The meadows are really pretty. It’s remarkable seeing the difference between our meadows that are fenced in so the free range cows can’t eat them down and the USFS meadows where cows mow the grass down short.
I brought Sunny over to Forked Meadow to hang with me and Poofy. There’s a big fire just east of Monterey where a coworker lost her house already.
