I spent a weekend up at Forked Meadow to help change out the bobcat tracks to their summer treads and check out the meadow at the start of summer. It sure is beautiful up in the central Sierras!
A cheery, crisp day at Forked Meadow
Today was crisp and cheery at Forked Meadow. The snow is still hanging on some of the trees in the shade although most of the snow on the sunny side of the trees has unloaded. The creek through the meadow keeps flowing along.
A cloudy afternoon in the snow at Forked Meadow
In the afternoon, it got cloudy at Forked Meadow. As the snow sublimates off, it creates local clouds that make for some really pretty but also chilly conditions. The sequoia seedlings are doing well in the snow (last photo with the orange stakes). The creek has frozen over in a few spots and the snow from the last few days hasn’t melted in the water.
