This rest stop in the middle of the Laufskálavarða volcanic ridge has thousands of piles of rocks. The legend goes that making a small cairn on your first passing by this point will bring good luck.
There was also a small hill in this otherwise featureless plain.
My bivouac sack away from home. It is exactly big enough for me and nothing else. I used the empty water bottles to help keep the tent fabric off of my sleeping bag. That helped my sleeping bag stay more dry during the rainy nights in Iceland.
