Eileen’s Speech

Eileen gave her speech at IMECE2010 on Saturday afternoon. I thought she did quite well. The presentation was very good and her delivery was excellent. Unfortunately the lighting wasn’t the best in the room so I couldn’t get very many decent pictures.

Stanley Park and Around

On Saturday morning I decided to head over to Stanley Park to see what there was to see.  The walk ended up being much longer than I had anticipated but the exercise was welcome.

Looking toward the north and east from near the convention centre.

The promenade and green space along the harbour.

A rather odd art installation.

So many gleaming glass towers!

Interesting artwork.

Good use of old saw blades.

Some art from the Vancouver Biennial.

Pleasure boats and a few house boats, too.

Strange sculpture.

A famous Canadian.

The Lions Gate Bridge in the distance.

A totem pole park.

Some art in the water.

A jellyfish close to shore.

Loggers arch.

Strange artwork in the forest.

Someone forgot their cup.

Dark places and cold times.

Closer to the Lions Gate Bridge.

A kelp forest just offshore.  It would probably be a good place to dive.

Japanese-Canadian memorial for all of the Japanese-descent Canadians that fought in the World Wars.

Heading back to the hotel through Stanley Park.
