The Selfoss Waterfall is amazing and huge. This is the second largest river in Iceland plunging over these falls.
This is a very long, U-shaped falls complex.
It was incredibly loud.

Just downstream from the Dettifoss Waterfall on the Jökulsárgljúfur River.

The noise was incredible. The rocks were all vibrating.
The water just drops off the face of the earth. Outstanding.

Except for the mist rising and loud roar, you wouldn’t know from here that there is a waterfall just ahead.
On the way to Jökulsárgljúfur
I took Rte 864 to go up to Jökulsárgljúfur in order to check out the waterfalls. It was impressive that the rental car companies allowed rental cars on this road.
