Emily and Brandon’s Wedding

Emily and Brandon got married over the weekend.  It was an awesome wedding!  Here are a few pictures I took before and after the wedding.  Since I was a bridesmaid, I wasn’t able to get photos of the actual ceremony.  These first few pictures are of us setting up the altar.  We used a Unimog to tie ribbons up in the trees.

Making the flowers for the wedding.  I was assigned to help with the bride’s bouquet and do the altar flowers.

Mushroom Picking

Mushrooms abound in the forests of Gustavus. Emily, McLean, Margot, and I tromped off into the undergrowth in search of some edible mushrooms. We found many that were edible, a few that weren’t, and some hallucinogenic ones, too.

Fishing in a Boat

Emily’s brother, McLean and I went out in a little skiff for some afternoon fishing. We didn’t have a single bite but we did manage to finish a six pack of beer and see some interesting marine life. A couple of whales were breaching a half mile away. Some otters came and said hello. A sea lion thrashed a salmon around on the beach. Even some porpoises came and visited us. If only some fish had come to take a nibble on a hook!
