Otters on a Cloudy Day

Another day, a bunch more cute otters down at the breakwater in Monterey! These two moms and pups were hanging out in the kelp.
Just look how cute they are!

Otters at Breakwater

I’ve been playing around with Heather’s DSLR camera. There are a bunch of otters down at Breakwater most evenings eating snacks. Here are a few photos of some of those little cute water weasels.

This little guy has been hanging out a lot at Breakwater. We think he’s and orphan. He’s a bit young for being out on his own.

“I’m going to steal this urchin off your tummy, mom!”

All is forgiven and everyone gets back to eating snacks pretty quickly.

Heavy Surf Day

It was a big and heavy surf day on the coast around Monterey today. We haven’t been able to dive in Monterey Bay in over two months now because of heavy seas and our schedules.

  • San Carlos Beach at Breakwater was really rolling from the swell.
  • A couple seals were out and about in Otter Cove.
  • Big surf around Monterey.
  • Look for the seals!
  • Divers out at San Carlos Beach. Good luck, guys!
  • Lovers 3 Beach was getting pounded.
Heavy surf at Lovers Point today. We didn’t bother diving here.

Monastery Beach was really rocking and rolling today.

Stay safe out there, everyone! These sea conditions are meant for surfers, not divers.
