We went for a hike out in Elkhorn Slough before grabbing some food in Moss Landing and then checking out the other end of Elkhorn Slough close to Highway 1. It’s a really pretty and dynamic environment that is slowly healing after a couple centuries of human damage.
Storm coming into the bay
One of the MBARI research vessels came in close to Breakwater overnight to hide from the impending storm.
A squall coming through Monterey. Lots of rain in a short amount of time keeps things green.
Up at Moss Landing at sunset. Surf is picking up a bit.
A Trip to the Succulent Gardens
We took a trip up to the Succulent Gardens in Moss Landing for the annual big succulent extravaganza and came home with quite a few new plants for our collection.
Photos do not do this place justice. There are so many tens of thousands of succulents growing everywhere!
We even got to tour the upper greenhouses where they do some of the propagation work and have some of the more rare succulents.
We can never visit the Succulent Gardens without coming back with a bunch of new plants.
