Bye Grandma Van Bossuyt

IMG_1609

My grandmother passed away at the end of July this year.  We held the internment and memorial service in New Jersey where my grandfather is buried and my father grew up.

My grandfather died before I was born.  My grandmother outlived him by more than 30 years.

The Harks and the Owens clans were in attendance.

This is an FYI for all of my boys at the fraternity who are of legal age: This is the vodka that you should probably be buying.

This is a chocolate martini of our own creation.  The recipe is:

2 parts chocolate whipped cream vodka

1 part vanilla vodka

1 part coconut milk

1/2 part creme de cacao

garnish with shaved chocolate

We had a little party with some of Heather’s high school friends and their spouses.  In addition to that wonderful chocolate martini, we also made alcoholic capri suns, pigs in a blanket, bagel bite pizza, and a trip down memory lane to when we were all in high school, Heather was in the popular crowd (she was prom queen), and I built robots (one of my robots was prom king or something to that effect).

Until next time, Millville!
