Switzerland with Nina

After visiting the Black Forest, Nina and I went over the border into Switzerland for a day of sight seeing.  This is in the countryside where small bits of Switzerland are isolated within Germany.

The Rheinfall in Switzerland.

Me at the falls.  Proof that I was there!

In Konstanz on the Bodensee.

They were redoing the cobbled street outside of one of the local cathedrals.

The Bodensee.

A famous rotating statue.

A pretty church.

The Black Forest

Nina and I decided to go to the Black Forest to see the sights and do a little hiking.  These are some photos of the adventure.

We decided to hike up a mountain to the top for the view.

Nina reliving the hiking experiences she had with my family in California.

In the winter a ski lift goes up to the top.

It was a little bit cold up there.

On the top of the mountain.

The cowbells were magical.

Nina’s car by a lake.

A train station.

Her radio had been stolen a few weeks before our little trip.  She had found a replacement unit although it wasn’t completely installed.  At least we had a little music though!

Recent storm damage.

For my father.  He loves seeing distribution systems in other countries.

A World War I memorial in the countryside.

We started driving down this path then decided it was not going to take us where we wanted to go.  And with it getting dark, we decided it was not a good idea to try off-roading a Jetta.

Attack of the windmills!

Das Fest

Rather than go to Budapest as I had planned, I ended up partying with my old exchange student sister, Nina, at Das Fest. The place was totally packed with people and music. I’m sad I missed Budapest but I am very glad that I got to go to Das Fest.
