Cape Blanco
Cape Blanco is the westernmost point in Oregon. It sticks far out into the ocean and is constantly buffeted by ferocious wind. A Coast Guard lighthouse sits at lands end shining a beacon into the night for mariners at sea.
The wind was so bad that Heather and her parents didn’t venture far from the car park.

Port Orford
Port Orford has the distinction of being the only drydock port on the west coast. Ships are lifted out of the water when they are in port and set in dollies on the dock. They can only come in at high tide. It is a unique, interesting place.
