The Floods of Fire trail is a striking place in the Sheep Rock Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.

Blue Basin
We went on a hike up Blue Basin. The walls look somewhere between blue and green. A recent rainstorm highlighted the green tint. This pool of standing water is green from the wet mud below.

The earth is a strange blue-green color here. Nothing grows on the colored ground.
