Kristen and I hopped from the island of Vis to the island of Hvar on a series of ferries.
In Stari Grad, the main city on Hvar, we found some lunch.
Yachts and pleasure boats line the harbor in Stari Grad. This is a big party place and the wealthy love to come play here.
This island is much more busy than Vis.
The old church at the edge of the plaza.
Across the inner harbor.
Up a quiet side street.
Flowering plants a plenty!
Kristen looking at something interesting.
At the entrance to the old fortress.
Looking down on the harbor.
Entering the fortress.
Kristen has a fondness for pushing on things to hold them up.
A little chapel in the fortress.
Atop the fortress citadel.
Looking down on Stari Grad.
Kristen on the lookout for invaders.
She still hasn’t seen any yet.
More islands of Dalmatia in the distance.
Sunset over Hvar and Stari Grad.
After an excellent meal, we were relaxing in our room when we heard a beautiful two-part harmony aria drifting up from the street below. The son of the hotel’s owner was sitting on the front steps singing with one of his friends. It was an absolutely perfect way to end the day on Hvar.
