The Stóra-Víti Explosion Crater was created 1724 according to my guidebook. It’s a pretty impressive water-filled crater. I decided to hike around the outside of the crater in a driving, stinging wind.

Back in the parking lot I found a Cheap Jeep that had a bit of a problem. I’m glad I decided against renting one of these vehicles. The little Toyota Yaris I rented worked just as well, used less fuel, and never broke down.
