The Foobar 2000 audio player is yet another piece of software that I find quite useful. It plays pretty much every audio format I have ever thrown at it. Unlike what happened to WinAmp, this software is surprisingly low-bloat.
AutoHotkey
AutoHotkey has proven itself rather invaluable tonight. This program provides a brain-dead stupid macro scripting language that can run programs, pass keyboard commands, pull data, and the like. It has just enough sophistication to make it perfect for my needs. Later once the project I am plugging away at is finished, I will write up a description of just what I’ve been doing.
Daemon Tools
Daemon Tools continues to be an incredibly useful piece of software to have installed on my various computers. A current school project requires Visual Basic. My university has a distribution deal with Microsoft to give us Visual Basic but it comes only in ISO form. Several mouse clicks later and Daemon Tools has mounted it just like another CD Rom drive. Mounting ISO images without needing to burn them is very sexy.
