Odell Lake

We took our Albino Rhino out to Odell Lake to camp out for the night with some friends who had a couple of boats and some other toys for the long holiday weekend.

Our setup, as always, is to load all of our gear into the truck and go wherever the adventure takes us.

You never quite know where you’ll end up when you take a Toyota out into the woods.

Sometimes you’ll end up camping next to Odell Lake with an awesome view of Diamond Peak.

Other times you’ll end up at Waldo Lake checking out the clean, clear water.

No matter what, it’s always an adventure.

First Trip in the Tillamook State Forest

I headed out with my new buddy Matt into the Tillamook State Forest to check out a route that goes from Brown’s Camp to Tillamook on trails and gravel roads.

Here’s Matt’s sweet 80 series Land Cruiser.  It’s big enough for his whole family.

Heading up Firebreak Five.

Following Matt down Archer’s Firebreak.

Up at the end of Archers Ridge on the west end with a great view of the western part of the coast range.

Cold Spring Campground and Around

We drove around through the forest between Camp Sherman, Sisters, and the closed gate on the McKenzie Pass Highway looking for a decent spot to spend the night.  Higher up, there was quite a bit of snow on the ground.

There were some really cool views like this one of Black Butte.

Storm clouds kept churning around us and we didn’t want to end up setting up a tent in the rain.

In the end we ended up back down at Cold Spring Campground for the evening.  We found a nice spot that was fairly secluded to setup our stuff.
