Train to Hungary

To get back to Budapest where Kristen and I both were to catch flights, we decided to take the train from Timișoara.  The Timișoara train station is one of the more dilapidated halls of transportation that I have been in.

Rail cars waiting for something

For close to a year, a whole train worth of container-carrying rail cars has been parked on the mothballed line that runs by my parents house.  The cars appear to be refurbished.  They are ganged together in sets with cars sharing wheels.  Here you can see them across a trestle.  Reflective tags glow in the evening light.

Trains and Cane

On our way north and west we passed lush, rolling fields of sugar cane.  And where there is cane in Queensland, there are sugar cane trains!

There are also larger trains.

This train shares a bridge with the highway.

There was actually water in the river.  I’m told that this is a rarity.

Adventures in Bogan moving!

Turning west into the interior, we left the sugar cane fields behind and returned to the bush.

This is one truck that should not be passed lightly.
