On my way between a conference in Torrance and another in Palm Springs, I stopped off to visit Zach and Vera in their new home in Altadena. After some breakfast, we went out to hike to a waterfall. It was pretty wild hearing about Kobe’s helicopter crashing today. Down in Torrance when I left, it was SUPER foggy.
We took a hike through the redwood forest at Limekiln State Park to visit the old lime kilns for which the park is named.

These kilns are really big. You can still walk around them although I imagine in a few years the area will be closed off as the kilns become more unstable.
We hiked up the canyon next to the lime kilns to check out a waterfall.
After a lovely night camping along the beach, Heather, Zach, Vera, and I headed up the trail and into the redwoods.
This is a gorgeous piece of coastline where a road was built in such an improbable location.
